Ministry Council

In the United Church of Christ (UCC), each congregation is autonomous -- meaning that the denomination doesn’t tell the local church what to do or how to worship. We make decisions for ourselves, in covenant with the whole of the UCC. Big decisions are made by a vote of the congregation.

We still need a group of people responsible for making the church's day-to-day decisions, however. At King Street UCC, this group is called the Ministry Council. It comprises:

  • The church officers (Moderator, Vice Moderator, Financial Secretary, and Treasurer)

  • The six Ministry Team leaders

  • Three members-at-large

  • The pastor.

Names of these 14 council members are posted on the church bulletin board. Many of their e-mail addresses are also available on this site. All welcome your comments and suggestions.
